Requirements and Responsibilities For Mortgage Collector I
Responsible for contacting homeowners to remedy delinquent or past-due mortgage payments. Determines appropriate collection alternatives to settle shortfalls. Explains options like forbearance or loan modification and/or negotiates payment plans to bring the account current. Adheres to pre-established guidelines when determining appropriate collection remedy. Typically handles accounts in early stages of delinquency. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
