Requirements and Responsibilities For Vascular Sonographer
Performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. May perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. May require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
