| Requirements and Responsibilities For Case Management Director |
| Directs and oversees a team of case managers responsible for patient care coordination. Develops and implements case management programs, including utilization review, intake or discharge planning, and managed care contracting. Evaluates patient care data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with organizational guidelines and standards. Develops clinical care pathways that enhance cost-effectiveness while providing quality care. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
