| Requirements and Responsibilities For Patient Accounts Director |
| Directs the administration of patient accounts and ensures record keeping practices comply with industry regulations and operational standards. Monitors and oversees all financial transactions related to a patient's healthcare services. Continuously reviews and improves policies and controls to ensure accurate records, efficient workflow, and compliance with all regulatory standards and internal procedures. Develops operational processes and procedures to identify insurance coverage, make adjustments, submit claims, and update patient accounts. Coordinates with insurance companies to resolve complex payment issues, coverage questions, or patient inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
