| Requirements and Responsibilities For Water/Wastewater Engineering Manager |
| Manages water and wastewater engineering functions to address water resource management, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management issues. Directs engineering projects related to water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management. Oversees the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure and systems. Ensures engineering work complies with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. Manages engineering staff, budgets, schedules, and project resources. Reviews and approves engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports. Coordinates with regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders on projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
