Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Hematology/Oncology
Examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the blood, bone marrow, vascular, and immune system. Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requests necessary tests, follow-up visits, and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
