| Requirements and Responsibilities For Women's Athletics Director |
| Directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program. Responsible for hiring coaches, developing strategic plans, and fostering a positive athletic environment. Assists in fundraising efforts to secure additional funding for the athletic program through events, sponsorships, and community engagement. Ensures the athletic program adheres to all relevant rules, regulations, and policies, including those set by the school, state, and the NCAA. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. |
