| Requirements and Responsibilities For Asset Management Director |
| Directs an organization's policies and processes to control and maintain physical assets, including property, plant, vehicles, and equipment. Develops methodologies for tracking asset lifecycle, inventory, locations, and costs. Analyzes and monitors asset information databases to determine and anticipate maintenance and investment decisions. Tracks depreciation and asset values to adhere to and support budget development. Plans and approves the acquisition, replacement, and disposal of assets. Conducts risk assessments and recovery plans related to asset failure or underperformance. Develops auditing procedures to determine the condition of assets and verify that inventories match records. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
