| Requirements and Responsibilities For Environmental & Employee Safety Senior Supervisor |
| Coordinates the programs, processes, and controls that protect employees from hazardous workplace conditions. Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify hazardous conditions and implements processes and policies to ensure worker health and safety. Evaluates projects to identify potential risks or hazards and recommends protective actions, equipment, or controls. Takes samples and measurements to evaluate conditions and coordinates the removal of hazardous materials, equipment, or conditions. Trains and educates employees about safety policies, programs, and regulatory requirements to ensure awareness of environmental hazards and workplace safety. Investigates accidents and worker concerns to identify root causes and recommend processes and controls to correct issues and prevent recurrence. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. |
