| Requirements and Responsibilities For Water Purification Operator |
| Operates water treatment equipment to disinfect and purify water to meet potable water quality standards. Adds appropriate levels of chemicals into tanks for the clarification, disinfection, and purification processes. Operates and monitors filtration, sedimentation, and disinfection equipment. Tests water samples to verify chemical levels and treatment effectiveness. Adjusts treatment processes based on test results and water quality requirements. Records operational data, chemical usage, and water quality measurements. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of treatment equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. |
