Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Anesthesiology
Examines patient to determine type of anesthetic needed and communicates findings to appropriate medical practitioner. Administers local, intravenous, or spinal anesthetic, records type and amount of anesthesia, and determines condition of patient before, during, and after sedation. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
