Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Anesthesiology
Specializes in the planning, delivery, and monitoring of anesthesia. Examines the patient to determine type of anesthetic needed. Administers local, intravenous, or spinal anesthetic. Records type and amount of anesthesia, and determines condition of patient before, during, and after sedation. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
